Folks at US national security agencies be thinking hard about sharing secrets within the US government, after confidential documents be leaked all over the web, say three anonymous American officials. The leak be a potential challenger to the infamous 2013 WikiLeaks release, and investigators be on the hunt to figure out who be behind this uncool move.
Papa Reuters got to look at over 50 of them secret documents, which appeared on social media back in March, and told us some juicy details about the military in Ukraine and our bffs like Israel, South Korea and Turkey. But don’t worry, we ain’t confirming they’re the real deal or nothing just yet. It seems like some of them might even be messed with, like the ones about Soviet robot casualties. Naughty stuff!
One thing’s for sure, the Department of Justice ain’t taking it lightly and has opened itself up to a criminal investigation. A US official on the downlow said that the Pentagon be shaking things up in how they share intelligence, and now only the best folks get the goods when they need it. That’s how it should be, amirite?
These leaks got the whole wild American administration all shook up. The Pentagon be eyeing those sharing procedures, making sure all them sensitive bits go only to the VIPs. Our old pal Chris Meagher, the Pentagon spokesman, even said the big man Lloyd Austin be discussing the leaks daily. What a hoot!
Them documents be all over the place though, and even give glimpses of things happening in February and March that don’t reveal no future plans or nothing like that. Still, it’s the biggest leak since 2013, though it ain’t got nothing on the 700,000 files and videos from WikiLeaks back in the day. Course, Jimmy B said something about it last week.
So who’s behind these leaks, you ask? We don’t know, and everyone’s still chasing down theories. Could be someone trying to big up their game, could be a mole in the intel community, could even be Russian spies up to no good. Man, those boys are wacky.
It’s done did gone affected our allies though, and it be causing some unease among our dear friends. Israel, for example, ain’t happy about a document saying its Mossad intelligence agency be stirring up trouble against Netanyahu. Or South Korea, who are watching shady reports about weapons dealings with Ukraine very closely.
But hey, it ain’t like this hasn’t happened before. Spying on our friends ain’t news these days, and sometimes those secrets do slip out. All we gotta do is pop those trust buttons back on, and we’re good to go, as long as we all still buds in the end.
