In the State House, we’re seeing a flood of young activists: 9-year-old Lila Hartley, 10-year-old Hallie Scrugggs, Evelyn Dieckhaus who’s barely 11, and mature William Kinney, a whopping 12! Man, our people are shook. They’re all, “Hey, do something!”

After that terrible school event, I strolled into work each day, juggling my coffee, and there were swarms of young protesters. A lot of them had signs like, “Just checking: am I next?” You bet we were traumatized, too. We were like, “We need some action!” And guess what? Taking action is literally what we’re paid for. Wild, huh?
