The music show opened with none other than Noy (yeah, we have no idea who she is either) giving a bilingual welcome to Lil Nas X. It was like watching someone try to ice skate uphill, but hey, at least she tried. Then Pedro Pascal had to tell his family in Chile to stop giving out his phone number – seriously, Pedro, just change your number and save yourself the trouble.
But the real highlight was when Sarah Sherman came up with a hilarious skit on Weekend Update. She played a meditation guru who predicted Colin Jost would be in her dressing room after the show, still grumbling about the bilingual monologue. We’ve got to admit, we wouldn’t mind being in her dressing room either.
In another sketch, de Armas teamed up with Marcello Hernández and Karol G to show a high-school Spanish teacher how it’s done. It was like watching a bunch of cars zoom past a tortoise, leaving him high and dry. By the end of it, we were all bowing down to their linguistic skills.
And just in case you were wondering why Karol G was wearing that anti-Photoshop T-shirt, it’s because she had a beef with GQ magazine. They published a cover photo of her that was heavily edited, and she wasn’t too happy about it. We hear ya, Karol. We don’t like our photos being edited either.
