Are you a crossword puzzle fanatic or a Sudoku superstar? Do you revel in the power of words or the thrill of strategy? Me? I used to be a strictly crossword kind of gal, but then Wordle entered my life, and now I just can’t seem to quit this annoyingly addictive game.
I usually crack the puzzle in four tries, which is a bit of a bummer because I’d really love to solve it in three, or maybe even two. Come on, brain, keep up! On the bright side, at least with four tries I get to discover new five-letter words. Like TANGO, which reminds me of MANGO, which then leads me to dreamy thoughts of MELON. Oh, the joy of FRUIT.
My journey with today’s puzzle began with the word ADIEU, which felt like a good start because it’s got lots of vowels. But nope, only one measly letter came out of it. Then I tried to be all master strategist and went with STICK. But that was a giant fail because it knocked out even more letters. I suppose it was divine retribution for picking a snooze-worthy word. So next, in honor of my job as a fashion critic, I chose the word FRILL. And voila! Now we’re cooking with gas, folks. One more letter (though in the wrong spot). And finally, on the next try, I triumphed.
Today’s word is actually kind of playful and fun (try saying it ten times fast), so I give this puzzle four juicy stars out of five.
