Who says short quarterbacks can’t be successful in the NFL? Just because Troy Aikman, Tom Brady, and Andrew Luck were all 6-4 doesn’t mean shorter quarterbacks can’t make it big. Look at Little General Eddie LeBaron, who went to four Pro Bowls, or Russell Wilson, who led the Seattle Seahawks to a Super Bowl victory. And now there’s Bryce Young, who may have what it takes to stand above all other short quarterbacks. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, he’s got a lot to prove.
Bill Parcells famously said that a short quarterback “better walk on water.” That’s a tough act to follow for any player, let alone one who’s barely 5-10. But if anyone can do it, it might be Young. After all, he’s the presumptive first pick of the NFL Draft, so there must be something special about him. And if that means he has to walk on water, well, he’s got his work cut out for him.
