In response, Schumer penned a heartfelt letter insisting Trump’s calls to defund federal law enforcement are nothing more than a selfish, tasteless tirade against those who aim to protect and serve the nation. Because you know, it’s kinda what they do. And while slicing the money cake seems like a grand ol’ time, it’s about as likely as a fish riding a bicycle through a divided government – it just ain’t happening! Especially as Big Daddy Biden is waiting at the end of it all with his trusty veto pen.
Nevertheless, Schumer bravely marches into the battlefield of the Senate, forcing Republican senators to choose between running back into the arms of their 2024 presidential love interest, Trump or going steady with law enforcement. And guess what, Democrat friends? Now you get to vote too! Show off your support for those federal law enforcement agencies that help keep the streets and skies safe.
Before you start feeling too fuzzy, though, remember that the DOJ and FBI aren’t directly involved with Trump’s current charades in court. But they have been essential investigators in other Trump-related matters, like that classified-documents sleepover at Mar-a-Lago and that unforgettable Capitol party on January 6th.
With all this drama, Trump took to Truth Social – his very own gossip site – to vent his frustrations and call for the FBI and DOJ to be defunded.
