D.C.-area forecast: A fantastic day before melting point Thurs, Fri like sunbathing on a hot stove.

Are you ready for some hot, steamy weather? Well hot damn, you’re in luck! Tomorrow is looking like a scorcher with temperatures reaching up to 85 to 90 degrees. And if you thought those model forecasts were accurate, think again because the dry air and ground are promoting maximum heating and sending those temperatures soaring. So, don’t forget to bring a water bottle and a towel to wipe off that sweat.

But hold up, we can’t forget about today (Wednesday). The gusty wind from yesterday has decided to take a nap, and instead, we have a light lingering breeze that’s as gentle as a butterfly’s kiss. With tons of sunshine to go around, you’ll be feeling hotter than a stripper on a pole. Temperatures will rise through the 50s and 60s this morning, and it’ll peak around 75 to 80 degrees in the afternoon. And hey, you can enjoy that lovely low humidity while it lasts.

Tonight, the clear skies will continue, so throw on some stargazing goggles and try not to trip over anything as you’re cooling off in the upper 40s to mid-50s. It’s about 10 degrees warmer than last night, so you can leave that extra blanket in the closet.

But let’s get back to the main event – Thursday. It’s a bird, it’s a plane…no, wait, it’s the sun! You’ll be seeing a lot of that bad boy along with summertime temperatures. We’re talking 85 to 90 degrees, baby! There will be light winds and low humidity to accompany you on this hot and sweaty journey. Can we break the daily record high of 88 degrees at Dulles International Airport? It’s a possibility, my friends.

Tomorrow night, we’re looking at another 10-degree jump compared to tonight’s temperature. Lows will only drop to the upper 50s and low 60s, so you can leave that extra sweater at home. The light breeze from the south is bringing in some slightly moister air, but we all know that’s just a fancy way of saying it’ll be humid as hell.

Now onto Friday, the heat peaks with sunny skies yet again. Highs will be near 90 degrees, and let’s not forget about that humidity. It’s going to be a bit more humid, but still relatively dry by D.C. standards. Will we beat the record highs for the day of 89 in D.C. and at Dulles Airport or 88 at BWI? It’s anyone’s guess, but give it your best shot!

Saturday is a partly sunny day with gusty winds from the south, and highs will be near 80 degrees. Finally, it’s looking like we’ll see some much-needed rain sometime between midafternoon Saturday and Sunday morning. Maybe if we’re lucky, we’ll even get some thunderstorms to really shake things up. Rain should be clearing up by early Sunday morning, with cooler and breezy temperatures, reaching mid-60s to near 70 degrees. So, hang in there, folks – hopefully, this rain will bring more flowers than it does April showers.
